Copying brings me closer to the creative impulse. this is a pencil copy from one of Los Caprichos (The Caprices) of Francisco de Goya y Lucientes - 'Que se la Llevaron!' - 'And so they Kidnapped her!' The original an etching and aquatint.

About Me
- bazart
- London, United Kingdom
- My name is Barry Smith and I am a London-based Australian artist and illustrator. At various times in my career I have made portraits; a writer and illustrator of books for children; a chronicler of the street life and architecture in the East End of London ; I am currently interested in printmaking. I am fascinated by Noir which for me encompasses the photographs of Weegee, Brassai, photographs from the police department of Sydney, NSW. It includes the neo realist European cinema of the late l940s as well as the Hollywood output of the same period. I love a good story and products from the age of anxiety that came in the l940s.
